Ninikins, some of the cruises I’ve been on have had such a superb selection of vegetarian dishes.

I usually go through that route by the end of the cruise – just to make sure I can still fit in the clothes I came with

I personally have always heard and expierenced good things with the food on the cruises. Now there was one time where I got some fish that was really fishy tasting but it was still eatable.

Travelforever, I think NCL’s freestyle dining in the beginning was a touch and go situation, because for one, it was something that wasn’t really tried before in their cruise category….

But they’ve worked out very well. I still think though their smaller ships are having a tough time with it, however, they are slowly selling them off, and you can only expect greater and better things from them.

What a great idea! I’m definitely going to check these out. I’ve had some GREAT meals on cruises. I’m vegetarian and often find veggie meals uninspiring but it’s always been great on cruises.

It is interesting that NCL hasnÂ´t followed suit. We were on their cruise when they just bagan freestyle cruising anf it was horrible. We thought we would never try them again. In July 2007, we gave them another shot in Europe. The choice of restaurants and cuisne was subperb. They also had the best buffet that I have seen from the 30 or so cruises I have taken. We were so happy to try them again that we are booked again in the Med for July 2008.

I have not experienced the food on a cruise yet, but I’m glad to know that the food is at least decent!
